Campground Etiquette

Currently waiting out the weather in Southern Louisiana. Want to take a moment to thank our campground neighbor, who departed at 05:30 AM... , but not before he started his diesel pickup and let it idle for 20 minutes before departing ... If he wanted to warm up the engine, wish he would have pulled away from his sleeping neighbors and let it warm up on the exit road! DUH!!

We have had the same experience. Excessive idling should be prohibited in campgrounds.

And who would enforce this prohibition at 5:30 am? What would be the consequence of breaking this rule? Ejection from the campground? Oh, wait, he was LEAVING. The longer the list of rules handed to you or posted in a campground, the less friendly and welcome you feel. There's no fixing stupid or lack of consideration in respect for others. Most can say the Golden Rule, but few can think of it when focused on their own actions.

I can't think of a single reason to leave the campsite at 5:30 in the am, I am there to relax take my time and sure as heck not do anything but sleep at 5 in the am. I am the one asking to stay late all the time. not in a hurry to get home. if the drive is that long that I need to be on the road that early I brake that trip into two days
