He would have yelled at me only long enough for me to hook up my rig, under the wacthful eyes of a cop, if I felt that was needed.

He would never yell at me again, because I would never return there again.

As you are doing, I would also tell my story far and wide to warn others.

Sure, I would love to "deck" him, but he just isn't worth it.

We also have a scooter we use at events and sometimes on the way home we stop and stay at campgrounds that are not "scooter friendly" we have been yelled at for riding a scooter at fort wilderness, oceanlakes, pirateland, and a couple of other places our scooter has a tag not a legal one but yes it has a tag and it is insured, yes I have a motorcycle license, and probably all this drama with scooters started when some idiot in a golf cart to young or to drunk to drive it ran over somebody on a scooter and hurt them. What I am trying to say is for some stupid reason scooters have a bad rep in campgrounds we love ours and would have another one if more campgrounds would allow us to use them.

X-2 it is their campground but that's no excuse to scream at you unless someone was in danger. I would have put the bike up then give him the finger for yelling.

Conquest: What is a scooter? Or more specifically what is your scooter?
Thanks

Camping fam; thanks for the heads up on wilderness we were planning to go there sometime to DO disney again in RV but now will have to debate that one.

There was no one in danger at that point we had stopped and weren't moving at all. I think he was having a bad day or something so he just lost a long term camper albeit just a weekend warrior. You would think he would have said something over the last 3 years I have been riding it there.

The whole reason for getting it was so DAD could go around and enjoy the CG instead of just staying at the site. It's hard to walk a CG with a cane and go very far without pain. It's alright though we have found a new CG that IS scooter friendly they even think its COOL. We stayed there last month I rode ALL my girls around the whole weekend. I even but the 1 year old in her harness carrier and rode her around she was SO HAPPY. My favorite thing to do is start with the youngest and work my way up it looks like they are growing as I drive around. It get's quite a few laughs when I say "look how fast they grow up". They 1, 2 1/2, 6 and 13.

It can't be said often enough, POST a review on RV Park Reviews :: Home and let everyone know that this is not a place to camp. BTW, where is this park located?

1ciderdog;
Its a 49cc Honda Ruckus with a blow up bat tuck in above the headlights and a blow up skeleton riding above the brake light. It's fully street legal with plates and a tag as well as FULL coverage insurance. I have been riding here for the last 3 years since I bought it. NEVER had a problem before rode past ALL of the staff on more than one occassion. Even rode it around after dark. I think like someone said before someone was either JEOLOUS or has NO clue what 10mph looks like going past them. It is even quiter than a lot of the GolfCarts that drive around. It's only got 200 miles on the odometer. Most of them are from this CG even.

That's a good reason to have martial arts training. Several techniques to use to assure that, without breaking his finder, he could easily adjust his demeanor if he went to the next step in his aggression.

That said, you handled it better than I probably would. X2 to the guy who suggested leaving this yahoo and his daughter a present on line in RV review sites, including the one here on IRV2.

I suppose a private campground could ban scooters, even legally licensed ones, but I would be of the opinion that if it is licensed for the road/highway, it should be legal to drive anywhere.

I know for one, I would have put the old duffer on his butt, and rode on! You do have the right to protect yourself and you could have felt threatened! Of course, would have NOT went back there camping!

Conquest - I think I'll get one. Sounds like a good thing to carry and not "obnoxious" sounding or looking. Sounds like the campground folks acted like jerks. I have been in some campgrounds where the local entertainment seemed to be loud machines, high speed and lots of dust. That does not appear to apply in this scenario.
