I've had several different camp grounds ask about slides.... Doesn't really mean they are cramped... Could be a power pedestal or picnic table... As said read rv park reviews...

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

If the sites are that tight I would look for another campground! Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

in all our travels and 80,000 miles, I've never seen a campground tell you that you 'can't' use your slides, regardless of the size of the site. Your slides are only 24-32" deep at full out, and even with both sides out that would only make your coach 14'-15' max width. It's doubtful that ANY rv park or campground site is not going to be at least that width, most are much more.
In any case, even if a power pedestal or water spigot is on one side, you can generally move your coach to a position that makes it work.... never had a real problem.

I think this website for reservations is an older one... they might think that they need to give folks certain sites depending on how many slides they have, on what side, etc... but that's certainly not limiting you to using the campground. I've found that giving reservation systems 'too much' information can limit your site choices, though when you arrive you find that any of the sites at the campground would have been just fine.

I ran into a campground recently that was really 'strict' sounding, making you input your coach's length, number of slides, which side the slides were on, whether you were towing a vehicle, etc. If I put in our 'real' information, it would say 'sorry, no sites available'... but if I put in our 'other' information, such as our coach being a single 'foot' shorter, it would suddenly have a few sites available.
When we arrived, we found our assigned site was not only totally long enough for our coach, and our towed vehicle, but room for another RV! Sometimes these campgrounds have measurements and restrictions that don't make much 'real' sense.

A lot of older campgrounds had trees on the edge of the parking pad.

Consider that many of the trailers/ motorhomes of the 60's didn't have slides. These older campgrounds were adequate at the time.

As rigs got larger and started having slides these older campgrounds had to incorporate a slide strategy in order to accommodate the rigs of today.

I personally think it is not a big deal. I have seen this on several locations. Just let them know how many slides or what side they are on.I much prefer a treed lot as opposed to barren landscape.

We've had to adjust in a few narrow treed sites but have always fit even if by an inch or two.

Actually had more issues with unnecessarily tall power pedestals than trees

My experience with our state park system is that they do have lots of trees which is great for shade but several sites do limit the ability to fully extend the slides on one or both sides without pushing into tree branches. The other useful thing I found out is they really frown on campers cutting their tree branches.....!

Sometimes it is worth a drive to our state parks in your car or pickup to do a drive through experience before you take the RV in to a tight space. You can pick out your site preferences that way!

Have fun. RV camping is a blast.

On one occasion I was just doing a "weekender" in an older CG. A fellow RV'r had a coach that they "HAD" to extend their slides (Large new-ish coach, but totally unusable with slides retracted), My assigned spot had the room but theirs did not, so We just swapped assigned camp spaces, as I do not need to have my slides extended for full use..all was good..
(His DW brought over cookies & asked to tour inside our coach...Looked like they were having a serious conversation later...<grin>
