Before you get upset with me,... I didn't name them that. I heard them referred to as "snob camps." I personally wouldn't want to camp with nothing but TT or Class-C owners, but to each his or her own.

I have only been at this a year. This is my personal opinion, you lock your storage in CG's, you don't bother in RV parks.

It's our individual perceptions of the surroundings that make the above decision.

We lock our storage all the time. We unlock, take out whatever we need then lock it back no matter where we are be it a park, cg or resort. And yes we have stayed in all three, at least that's what the name's of the businesses have said that's what they were. Honestly they all had class A's, B's, C's, and tents or any combo there of. We park, we talk, I bake and pass out stuff. It really does not matter we will talk and get to know anyone in any place.

I can picture this elitist snob sitting at his site, alone, watching everyone walk by thinking how they're just green with envy... what a putz.
Wrong again ... as usual... and I remember well your pontificating (look it up) in that thread.

Just FYI ... that "putz" wasn't a guy, IT WAS ME!!!! and that was NOT the question I asked. What I said was that 50 years ago when I was a kid, whenever any of my family or friends saw a type A MH, which were NOT very common back then, we always talked about how much money they must have and how we were sure they must be real "snobs".

Now 50 years later, and because of health issues and traveling alone instead of a "trailer", was considering the purchase of a MH myself. Wanting to socialize with others at the CGs as I traveled, I was worried that in a MH others might now be more reserved and consider ME a "snob"... which I think is what the OP meant by "put off"... sort of a "reverse discrimination". Unfortunately, I worded the Title of my thread poorly, asking Are Class A MH a Snob..." or something like that, resulting in weeks of sometimes heated discussion!

but a more accurate picture would be this new RVer sitting at their site, alone, insecure, intimidated, and unsure what to do, but wanting to be friendly, watching everyone walk by ...

But now I'm tougher, and just try to ignore people like you.

My lady and I enjoy all the parks that are available. We stay in RV Parks and Campgrounds and we also stay in some State parks along with some Core of engineers parks. We also stay in some military parks along the way. In most of them we find friendly people sharing their lives together. We now travel in a class A but spent some time in a small travel trailer before that.

One thing we have found that really works no matter the situation. We never look down on anyone and we never envy someone that might have a bigger unit than ours. To have friends you must be a friend. If you park next to me and want to be left alone that is what you will get. If you want to sit a share stories of your travels and enjoy a cup of coffee that is what you will get.
Happy Travels

I have had my MH 12 years now. After the first few weeks, maybe it was days, I gave up locking storage bays. I didn't even lock them when in Mexico for six months, or going through Canada four times on two Alaska trips! Have never missed a thing! Well, maybe a few things, but, I found them later where I left them!

Kathryn,

Go ahead and buy your class A. You can park near us any time and we'll talk to you. Since we will obviously be in a Class A only RV resort.

I agree. But I am not concerned what happens in 50 years, as that will be for the next generation to work out.
