Makes sense instead of loading groceries, taking them home, unloading, then loading back into MH, just pull home up to door at Walmart and load direct.

Great idea. My wife thought she was the only clever one. That short drive on the evening before does a great job of getting you on the road and in the right direction.

Now, Wayne, how'd you get them pictures of my sister in her Easter dress?

This reminds me of a good joke - An RVer asks security guard at a mall if it's okay to park overnight. The guard says no. The RVer asks how about all the other RVs parked there. The guard answers, 'they didn't ask for it.'

Just in case there are any new folks reading this thread....

Walmart's corporate policy on Overnight RV Parking, as stated on the corporate website, is:

While we do not offer electrical service or accommodations typically necessary for RV customers, Walmart values RV travelers and considers them among our best customers. Consequently, we do permit RV parking on our store lots as we are able. Permission to park is extended by individual store managers, based on availability of parking space and local laws. Please contact management in each store to ensure accommodations before parking your RV.

And I'll also add my usual wish that people not use the term "camping" when they really mean "parking" at Walmart and other similar places....

Hi Jim, and it doesn't hurt to re enforce the Wal Mart Corp. Policy on overnight parking every so often for folks who follow these WM threads religiously.

Also I concur that a parking lot by any other name is still a parking lot and why anyone would want to camp in a parking lot is a mystery to me.

Cheers
Willey

LMAO!!!

Willey, take a trip to LasVegas. We paid big bucks to stay at Circus Circus on what is basically an asphalt parking lot with hookups - in August And paid big bucks to stay there too. Young and dumb I guess.

I have to agree, which is what I have found most "RV Park/Campgrounds" to be. Addmittedly, many have "some" grass or a tree or two, but they are not actually "camping", IMO.

Now give me a "secluded" lakeside spot in the middle of a forest, where the nearest "neighbor" is more likely to be a wild animal than a human being....Now THAT's camping!

But I do "park" overnight at WM or Cracker Barrel, etc...on my way to go "camping".

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger . We paid the same outrageous rates to park in the same Circus Circus asphalt parking lot on our first out-of state RV trip, several years ago. The decision to stay in Las Vegas was a last minute one; we'd spent the two previous nights at a Cracker Barrel and a Walmart respectively (with permission from the store managers, of course), and we wanted to dump tanks & have hookups for the night. In tie circumstances today, I'd select a different RV park in the Las Vegas area.....

Ok I have to get back in here since I started this one. It was our intention to stay at a state park but it was closed so we had a choice go back home or stay overnight at Wal mart . We stayed overnight and the next night too because we had driven 2 hrs from home and it was our first chance to get out in the motorhome this year . We have suffered through enough winter and want to go out in the motorhome . this week we are spending 3 nights in a campground so we can go to an RV show . hope that makes the anti wal mart people happier

Hmmm! what the asphalt camp ground don't pick from your pocket the Casinos will
I believe I seen photos of that place posted on the net somewhere from someone's travels so I have no problems visualizing it. Steel fencing on pipe frames and surrounding buildings for scenery if I recall (it's been a couple of years) not too inviting. Have a brother in law in Phoenix AZ wouldn't mind going there. Sheesh! we were only 1550 miles from there this past summer.

Just did a Google on the CC RV Park guess I'm remembering photos from something else that really was an ex parking lot.

Cheers
Willey
