We love RVing and cant wait to retire upgrade and go full time. *Retirement was delayed when we were blessed with a daughter late in life. *We have looked at joining the local Good Sam chapter for some of the events. *However, they are not geared toward children activities.

We were wondering if anyone knew of camping groups geared toward families with children. *We always run into great families and our kids make friends on every trip. *We just don't have any friends with kids that camp.

Are there any family camping clubs. *Perhaps if there are others interested it may be an option for a forum. * *I grew up camping with the family and i hope the values i gained can be instilled in my children.

Just go places and do things together. What she will remember is doing things with Mom and Dad more than any other activities with anyone else.
I've got 2 boys grown and even with all the things they did while growing up they remember more about all the times we read together or went outside and made mudpies and stuff.
When the youngest was in high school alot of his friends were asking Thom and I if we could adopt them. When asked why the answer was "Cause you do things WITH him." We spent alot of time together doing faires, festivals, gaming, you name it. We did not pick things for a child to do we just included them in with what we were doing. We made sure they had fun anyway and they learned how to get along with all kinds of people of all ages.

A second vote for FCRV, or Family Campers and RVers. www.fcrv.org
At our manin campouts we have programs for youth, teens, active adults and retirees.
WE are active all over North America and have one international campout each summer and this year it happens to be in Ontario Canada, and we are the Chairmen.
We have members in tents, trailers, 5ers and Motor Homes.
Check out the web site and look for contacts in your area.
If you look below under Camping Groups, there is a section on FCRV.

Come Camp With Us.

That is kinda how I grew up. We looked into some clubs but they were not geared for kids. We may just stick to the dart on the map and go. I will check out the FCRV. Looking at the local chapters there was not a lot of recent activity on the sites. Also not many pictures of younger kids.

We keep hoping some of our friends with kids may try out camping.

Thanks for the feedback.

I would not join a club to entertain my kids while camping. We go to state parks and allow our 6 & 7 year old to meet new friends at every park. We also enjoy bike riding, walking the dogs, visiting with new people, and playing games. Thats what I did as a kid with my mom and dad. I also have the 2 young ones late in life (I'm 56). All they talk about is going camping and meeting new friends. Go have fun.

Our children travelled with us to our big Campventions and after a week together, they had new friends from all over the US and Canada. Its not unusual to see the Teens still camping with their parents, as they still have friends camping an attending the large Campouts.
If you check out the National web pages, you will see lots of pictures of youth and teen agers active with their own programs. www.fcrv.org
