Camping World??

So, I'm headed into work today, driving down the Interstate. Going past our local RV sales/service center, Lovealls.

The lot is completely EMPTY.

Over 300 class A, C and trailers are GONE.

Did some checking at it appears that Camping World is moving in. No solid verification yet. Will have to wait and see.

Sorry to hear you're still working. LOL. Me too.

Keep us informed on what happens. Wonder where all those units went?? May be a buying opportunity for some. As for losing a local and gain a CW - eeekkk. Could work out as some are better than others but sad to see you lose a local for sure.

Well there goes the neighborhood. Like I said before - may work out ok. May even see some of the same people. Good luck.

Building (3 bays, stock room, restrooms, lounge, sales counter, sales offices and large sales floor) is less than 2 years old, due to a fire. Complete rebuild.

Construction (remodel) has begun. Local construction company has started digging by the building and interior lights are on.

I can see them adding more service bays and making it look more like their typical places.

So,

Camping World opened here last week. The new service bays are not done, but store and ales are in full swing.

Went buy and it is a nice place. Bought nothing, but didn't need anything either.

That is pure will power. Going into an RV store and coming out with your wallet still intact. Oh, I know, DW must have been with you.

Just went to check out the new place. Don't buy unless really needed.

Yes, the wife was along. She didn't see anything she wanted, either.

We are planning to semi retire at the end of this summer. Hit the road in the Rv.

Minimalistic outlook require. I am creating (storage) space everywhere I can.

Now, a gun shop is another story all together...............

We had a CW open here in AR in Oct. of 2012. It was a local RV dealer but was bought out by CW. I spoke to the GM and he indicated that CW had 100 locations and they hoped to have 125 by the end of the year. You are correct, some are good and then there are the others. I was impressed with what the GM told me he did. He's young and I had dealings with him when he worked at another dealer. When he went in he located his desk in and around all the workers and just observed for two weeks. At the end of the two weeks he cleaned house and got rid of those that were not doing the jobs that they were hired to do. They had service work that was backed up. Parts were not ordered and customers were not happy with the work. He's trying to change all that stuff.

I always have a plan when it comes to finding a good dealer. Talk to customers in the waiting room. Check them if they are shopping. Talk to a few of the techs. Is the shop clean and organized? Do they have decent equipment?? If there is certain work that they don't do where do they send it??

I REALLY dislike our camping world...

It's too close, the wife knows where it is and think they are running a tab for her !

I happened to use them twice for labor work and although simple they did it when promised and perfectly... so liking "my" store !
