Camping World

Just noticed that Motorhome Magazine says that their readers voted Camping World "RV Retailer" Gold.

Does here believe that anybody voted for CW?

Given the minuscule percentage of votes received for FMCA to allow towables, I can see how that happened. BTW, when was this vote? I was never informed of such a vote.

Ray, pay attention, FMCA put out notices for the last several months, along with this forum subjects.

Yep, well publicised, think it was in the last three issues of the magazine too as well as several emails.

Read closer; The OP said it was in Motorhome magazine, this is an FMCA publication. I never did see a vote for RV retailer in Motorhome mag.

I did vote all 3 times in the FMCA towables question.

No, Good Sam owns "Motorhome" magazine. It's not the same as the one FMCA publishes. On page 34 of the January issue it shows CW as winner of the reader survey. Good Sam, of course, owns Camping World.

20 or 25 years ago, it was fun to drive to the Camping World store in Fife, WA and wander around the aisles looking for stuff I probably didn't need. They also had a couple of women selling memberships to Thousand Trails who were making chocolate chip cookies right there on their display table. I always stopped and listened just so I could enjoy a few of those cookies. Now, you couldn't bribe me with 5 dozen of those cookies to get me in one of their stores. I do check their online website, if I find anything I'm interested, I search the web for the same product and buy it there rather than from Camping World.

When i saw that gold award for Camping world i thought very skewed and not a real award. I mentioned this to my DW and said looking like when subscription time comes i'm done! I don't feel i can believe anything this publication prints. Why should i pay for what is mostly an advertising magazine.

Starting with my personal experience with CW service i put them on my never again list. Then reading all of the negative posts on here i can see this is company wide and not just for stores near me.

Only the unknowing, possibly the unmechanical types go there. Yes I have only because it was convenient for parts or in an emergency (which hasn't happened yet) Cheap and reliable NEVER.

Sort of like do heavy advertising in Wine Spectator and guess what.... your wines get great ratings.
