Disappointing.
I purchased an extended warranty 3 years ago for $149.99. At the time, store representative told me that "if I don't use the warranty, I can get 100% refund". That was the statement that convinced me to purchase the extended warranty. This warranty expired on May 18, 2008. Last week, I called to request my refund, but was told that I should have cancelled PRIOR to the expiration. Well, now I am mad. No time did anyone at CW tell me that was the procedure. Neither did the contract explicitly state this procedure. I wrote and called CW to complain about the [LACK of CLARITY] when selling this warranty by CW store personnel. CW tells me "we're sorry...too bad" (your loss). And did not offer any kind of goodwill "gesture". You can bet that based on this ONE bad experience, I intend to terminate doing business with CW!!. And you can be sure that I will be telling others about this experience and I will also not recommend CW to others. Chalk this one up to bad timing, as I was trying to do the right thing by waiting until after the warranty period was over. Too bad for me and CW. Thanks for reading...you should be aware of this if you have a CW extended warranty underwritten by VAT.

Thank you for the info. We will beware. We are presently considering purchasing a new 5th wheel and one of the places that we are checking out is the Camping World in the Springfield, MO area. (We live in Branson.) I'll make sure to pass this info on to hubby when he wakes up from his "morning nap". Lol!

Was this a tire service warranty? $149 isn't enough for a full RV service plan.

Since you will no longer be doing business with CW, consider doing business with one of iRV2's sponsors.

It was for the "POS" KVH dome.

I would take this as an indication that they probably will drag their feet on providing any claim. Sounds like a company to be avoided totally.

Just curious if this was spelled out in the terms of the warrantee.

policy states: "may be cancelled at any time and refunded less any claims." My point was that it did NOT say "may be cancelled at any time PRIOR to end of contract." not clear for us non lawyers. Anyways... I am writing to prevent someone else from being swindled...

I have not trusted CW for a long time now. I have heard many problems with their extended coverage policies on Motorhomes and TTs. What a shame to beat loyal customers out of what was presented clearly as a rebate. This poor business practice will in time catch up with them as RV times continue to get leaner. As stated above, use RV Upgrades. They are deffinatly a customer oriented business.

Its a little odd to me how an extended warrenty would offer your money back if you asked for it after it expired. How would they stay in business? I am not slamming you, just trying to figure it out. Even I dont believe in santa Claus In all seriousness , help me and the others understand.

After the warranty expires, there is nothing to cancel. In other words, you can not cancel something that no longer exists.

Another strong point to just pass on all warranties.

"A full refund if you don't use it". I do not under stand how a company could stay in business with this kind of policy. That statement would should immediately set off the radar.

For what little money you spent on your 3 yr old KVH L 2 stationary sat system . You got it cheap , my cost $299 for 3 yrs and I am glad I did. Just 2 weeks ago I when to CW to get my system check because it wouldn't find sat.My is 2006 KVH R5 in -motion running 4 inside HD Tv.s and one 32 inch outside HDtv on portable stand for parties or rallies. We always leave all 4 tv on running while on the road and camping .
When the tech said that he had to reboot up the system with new software he mess it all up the program. Now it was shot , he must have fried it. He was honked off and scared. I was sitting in the M/H when it happen .
He is the deal CW was going to charge me 4 hours of labor at $109 per hour for a bill of $436 plus tax and fee of extra hour $109 to download new info from web site when all was said the bill came out to $545. plus . I refused to pay them and now it was complety down , so I ask to speak to the service manager . I whip out the EXTENTED WARRANTY PAPER , and the service manager was shock. he made a call to verified that the warranty did exist and he came back to me after 5 minutes and said that CW does not deal with KVH but only KingDome and Windgard , but since I have full warrranty till year 2010 that CW will order a brand new unit and have if express ship and installed all free no charge to me.
Best news is that the R5 in-motion in 15 inch white dome that always hit low branches all the time. a 2006 model that I only paid $1,599 plus $265.00 to installed then I waited less then 30 days for the extented warranty if i wanted it. I waited till the 3 rd week and paid the $299.and now KVH only are sellin the R5 sl or R6 sl he ask me which i wanted so Dud I said R6 in black dome 12 inch model with the GPS and electric dome for no dew on rainy days.. This unit is the top of the line and list for $2,995 plus install and 4 hours to download and programs all the new software.it would have been over over $3,500 plus installed of $265. and , YES i am glad i had this warranty , now i have a brand new manufacture on may 27,2008 model R6 with GPS and electric dome in black 12 inch and fastest and strongest , these are made for the military . it even picks when you have leaves in the site or small branches .
great for camping in the forrest .
Sorry for long writing , buy YES I AM GLAD I BOUGHT THE EXTENTED WARRANTY.
