Camping World Problem

We are brand new to this so I don't know if this is a common problem or just an unusual occurrence . I ordered an Everpure filter cartridge and sewer hose support 9 days ago from Camping World. A verification email said I would receive status update emails on this order. After 9 days with no update , I called Camping World and was told it can take two weeks to fill an order and additionally one item was backordered and could take up to 4 weeks to come in. Seems like they should have informed me that there might be this kind of delay.
Regardless, I just wondered if this was a common problem when ordering online from Camping World or was I just unlucky ?
Thanks.

There was a thread just yesterday about this very thing. It's pretty much S.O.P. for Camping World.

They are in the process of changing their ordering system and it's not working out very well! Lots of complaints on other sites.

By the way, you can order the same things from Amazon and pay a lot less. CW has higher prices on most everything and then tacks on high shipping costs. They also take forever to get the items to you where Amazon items arrive in a few days. Amazon also let's you know when it has shipped via email. CW has serious problems with its online AND phone ordering. This isn't new either. I quit buying from them 2 years ago.

Thanks for the input. I really didn't mean to rant - just wondered if it was a standard problem and it looks like it is. Will shop on another site ( eg. Amazon ) in the future.
Thanks again.

CW is a great place to inspect items, before you buy from Amazon or another online source at a considerably lower price.

Amazon is a good source. I also like RV Accessories, Parts & Supplies | Rvupgrades.com

If you're going to be an Amazon regular, I suggest using Amazon Prime. Well, well worth the annual fee. Look into it. You should also enroll in Amazon Smile-- no fee, no additional cost to you, same goods, same prices, but Amazon will automatically send a percentage of your purchase amount to a charity of your choice.

When I go to my local (45 minutes away) CW, I have a list and use the Amazon app with a bar code reader to compare prices. I have often found that CW prices were the same, or eve a few pennies less. I have just as often found them to be a few pennies more. Generally, I shop at Amazon because they are not 45 minutes away. But on trips near the CW store, I will check them out and have purchased things I need if it is relatively close in price. An example is a sewer hose, it was actually a couple bucks less than Amazon, but I passed on the drinking water hose as it was too expensive and not the one I wanted anyway. The Everpure ADC, cheaper at CW by $10 - the Amazon one that came closest in price is by another company too. Even buying them in bulk from another company on Amazon saving on tax was still more expensive by $10 each after tax savings. The Amazon app is really very handy - so is the HD one.

So YMMV, shop around. And I don't buy from CW online, at least not yet as I don't like dealing with companies online that don't meet the Amazon standards for shipping speed, notifications, returns and helping with problems. They have always been outstanding in this regard - I'm a Prime member too, so that may help.

Oh, and like John & Diane, if your going to be Prime sign up for Smile.Amazon.com. It is free and a little of what you pay goes to a charity of your choice. I chose my local SPCA.

Excellent information. Really appreciate all of this. Will look into Amazon Prime.
I have no problem with the CW physical store other than it is a 2 hour drive one way. So , Amazon (or one of the other on line companies Brad and Bonnie mentioned) will be the way I have to go.
Thanks.

If you shop online for your RV, a Google search will almost always include PPL. PPL is an excellent source for RV supplies. They are one of the biggest in the world. Fast, low prices, and very fast cheap shipping. There customer service is also second to none.
