Got a few nights reserved at Catalina State Park in Tucson, I hear it's quite nice.

You can still drive through Saguaro National Park in your car and enjoy the scenery. Shame the visitor's center is closed- They have a great show there about the saguaro and the area. If you're at Gilbert Ray you're right there. You should spend a day at the Saguaro Desert Museum. It's one of Tucson's gems. Pick a day that's a little cool, wear comfortable shoes, hat/sunscreen and drink plenty of water.
You probably love Catalina State Park. It's very scenic and very well run. If you like to hike and are in pretty good shape take the trail up to Romero Pools. It's a bit strenuous but if there has been rain the falls will be running.
Spend an evening or 2 walking downtown - There's lots going on and weekend nights are great fun
