Unhappy Can the LED powersupply 12v 40a run the macerator pump?

Hello,

I just have a quick question, that I'm looking for the power supply or converter that convert ac120v to dc12v to run the macerator pump 12v 12a.

I found the LED powersupply 12v 40A, that I'm not sure it can run the macerator pump, or not?

need help!
Thanks
George

George, it shouldn't be a problem. The pump pulls 12 amps and you have a 40 amp power supply. Of course, any motor pulls a lot more current on startup, but it should still be fine! JMHO

now I know

I think you right about it!

because I try to run it with the power supply at 15A, it seems to start, but it won't run continuously.

Thanks,
George

Ya have all that available 12volt power on the rig. Why not just run a wire and install a plug for it? My guess is it's an item that's never used more than a few feet from the same place every time.

Plus an LED power supply is heavily regulated. The induced spikes from the dc motor could be really bad for its regulator. It's expecting a PCM load, not inductive. I'm sure it will work just not clear on for how long.

Fuse for the macerator is 20 amps so it should be able to run 2 of 'em at one time.

40 amps worth of LED's.. Many that's a LOT OF LED lighting.

Why not use the on board battery? I would make things simple
