Carrabelle, FL hurricane damage

We are booked in at "Carrabelle RV Resort" for a week start in November 22nd (on our way to Fort Myers for the winter). The resort posted they had minimal damage and expected to have power back in a few days. I also saw the Golf course was going to open next week for play. What else does anyone have to report about this area and what should we expect.
Thank you,
Kim & Connie

We're talking with friends in the panhandle - the roads through Mexico Beach and a small portion eastward may remain closed for an extended period. Check your routing options as it gets closer ...

Friends in the Tallahassee and Pensacola area report it open - have not heard otherwise in between ...

This may be old fashioned but,, I'd make a phone call to the campground and talk to them directly to get the facts. They'll know what local roads are open, what the power situation is, and whether groceries/supplies are available.

Which is 5 miles east of town. Our house down the street suffered a lot of damage and cannot park our 40’ DP on the property due all of the debris. Except for no internet and Highway 98 looking like a warzone things are slowly getting back to normal.Click image for larger version

I was just in carabelle, temporary road repair due to wash out. Cleared 98 from St Teresa to Panama City. It's not pretty a place to be. Click image for larger version

Random pics along the road up to Panama City Beach, Mexico City Beach completely destroyed, we cleared I-10 first. What I mean by cleared is cut and clear the road way there is still debris along the side of road way no removal was done. use caution when traveling. We pulled out Thursday morning after completing our deployment tasks.

We had a great stay in Carrabelle a few years ago. It's a wonderful place and I hope everyone there can recover as quickly as possible.
