Carriage RV Closing??

Does anyone know if the rumors about Carriage closing shop are true? If so, does anyone have a supplier list which would include things like slide motors, seals, etc? Just went through same thing with Monaco

Here is a copy & paste article from a local news station in that area. It was dated Oct 18 at 4:30 pm.

MILLERSBURG – It appears an RV maker in Millersburg has shut down for now. The doors and gates at Carriage RV were locked this morning.
A person who contacted WSBT said it was shut down on Monday. WSBT talked to two truckers who came to make deliveries. They say they were told by their companies it was closed.
WSBT also talked to several RV owners who had stopped by the plant for maintenance work. They were advised that there would be no charges for that service work because the company was closing and there would be no work done until further notice.

People who had appointments have been called and told not to come in.
Several RV owners have heard the closing is temporary while the company works to refinance.

And as long as we remain dependent on OPEC, fuel prices will stay high.

Goes way deeper than just fuel prices in my opinion. We're losing a good portion of the next generation of RV buyers to the bad economy. The few folks with the big bucks may not be enough to support the RV business. Sad commentary on the coming quality of life.

Its not OPEC as most of your fuel comes out of Canada. It is the problems with your WALL street greedies that is causing the fuel prices to remain high.

Then if it was allowed we could pick on the envirofreakies.

Didn't know Wall Street was controlling the flow of oil.

Please take oil/gas shipping & prices to a new thread.

The OP asked about parts suppliers as a result of the possible closing of Carriage. Let's get back to helping him by answering that question.

Carriage apprently OK after bank bullying

I was at the RVIA show in Pomona and spoke to factory rep. He said Carriage is NOT closing - bank bullied Carriage and that loans were already in place when bank tried to put company in receivership. Apparently PNC Bank had to back down and Carriage will be back in business. I haven't seen anything else to contradict that info, so hopefully it is true.
