Cat 350 Question

What is the recommended mileage between oil and filter changes please? And, the recommended oil change for an Onan Diesel Generator...in hours.

Some Cat engines have a larger oil pan , that related to longer intervals between changes.
Is your oil pan steel or aluminum ?
There is also some variation year to year, posting the engine model and year would be a big help. C-7 ? C-9 ?
Genset size ? 7500 or 10,000 ?
50hrs. or annual is the interval I use for my , 7500. But I don't hit the 50 hrs. so it's always annual.

For the correct answer to any Cat engine question I recommend you call the Caterpillar RV Hotline, (877 777-3126), with your engine serial number and ask.
(IMO nobody knows your particular Cat engine better than Caterpillar).

Download the Onan Generator Handbook. It has service information for most Onan generators, including oil change information.

I change the oil & filter in my Onan QD 7500 annually, regardless of hours. I probably average 50-70 hours per year now, but used it more heavily in the past. It has 1900 hours on it now (11 years old).

My Onan QD7500 calls for oil and filter change at 150 hour intervals. I full time and use the generator frequently, so I service every 150 hours. The air and fuel filters get changed every 500 hours.
