Cat in a cargo bin.

Last Friday I got the RV out of the storage building to get a state inspection and tags.Had it done by Tuesday.Cranked it up Wednesday to take back to storage. The step was dragging when closing.Could not remember where the silicone spray was so I was opening the front cargo door.A black cat came out of it like a bullet.
That door had not been opened for about 12 weeks, the time it was in storage.
Has anyone ever heard of a cat living that long without food or water?

There must be a path the cat is using to get in. We had a cat have kittens in an airplane once. Never was able to get that smell out. Especially bad on a hot summer day.

that 'cat' was not in there for 12 weeks, you just 'scared' her out a different way than she got in!

Not 12 weeks, but how about 36 days, accidentally packed up in household goods in Virginia, discovered 36 days later while unpacking in Hawaii!

The next time I am there I will empty cargo and look for a hole.It is the first one right behind the generator and propane tank.I keep chairs in there and don't use it often.Wife is recovering from knee surgery so haven't used it in a while.

one may never be able to find all the 'holes' in your rig... while I've tried, many many times... there always seems to be a failure at some point. The most recent was a trip to Florida... we didn't take much stuff this time and the bays were mostly just 'stored' stuff left when it's parked for long periods. I was proud that I hadn't seen any of those 'critters' for a long time, while in storage, and had finally gotten 'rid of them... uh...no. Opened up the large bay to get out some lounge chairs while at a campground near the beach below Tampa. Found a nice little 'cradle' of half eaten/chewed acorns right on top of one of the chairs... PESTS!!!! How do they get in thar' !?!??!!!!??

When I was a kid, my dad owned a music store. One day my brother and I were opening a piano box. We UN-crated one side and I grab a kitten that was inside the box. It came from from New York State. The kitten stayed with us for about 17 years and finally died.

If the cat found a way in, and I'm sure it did. It was dry, warm and offered it a comfortable secure place to hole up. Opening the door scared the cat and whoosh.

It's always been said that if they cat fit their head thru an opening, they can get their whole body in so I would say it more likely that it was going in an out.
