Hi Bob
I hope we are not hijacking this thread. I bought the base loaded steel whip antenna that was recommended by Cobra and mounted it on the left front fender with a small clip on the front of the overhang to stop it from rattling. The wire was routed through the firewall and up through the windshield post and through some of the trim into the entertainment center in the overhead where I mounted the radio. It seems to be working fine. Now when I receive my decal I will put it on the left side of my rear window and take a picture for this thread.

Bill

Bob, i just installed a NGP (Non Ground Plane) Firestick side mount antenna from Right Channel Radios with a 4' whip. I mounted it above the drivers door on the overhead. I was VERY nervous about drilling holes in the fiberglass but it went smoothly with no leaks and looks great with excellent reception. I routed the cable behind the drivers seat and carpet, under the door sill moulding and up under the dash for a clean install. I will try and get some pics this weekend as it's over at the storage lot. I also have Craig's red and black CB13 decal in my rear window.
Here is a link to the mount.

Hey, Hosenose, Your install sounds interesting. I look forward to the pictures. I would be very nervous drilling a hole too so I give you a lot of credit. A 4' whip sounds long which is why you get such great reception. Thanks for the shout.

Hosenose,

I went into the Right Channel Radio web site. Best and clearest I've seen. The total package radio looks like what I'm looking for. Now I have to work up the courage to drill.

Roger, of the four I want the top left (blue background), and the the top right (black background).
I Know, originally I wanted something different, BUT, "The Master And Commander", has Explained To Me What I Really Want, So I Have Changed My Mind...

Hi Bob, sorry for the quality of these pics if they do come through. Never added photos to this forum before but this is my install we were discussing. Let me know if you have any questions.
