Why bother carrying a gun let alone concealed carry? Is it so dangerous where you travel that this is necessary?

Folks, let's stay on topic and not discuss the issue of carrying or not carrying a firearm.

OP ... Just remember that the information you get on this or any website is worth exactly what you paid for it. If you have questions, take the time to
1.- email the States Attorney's Office and ask your question and get a written reply, or
2.- look on line at the Attorney Office and read the rules as published. Unless of course the one who gives the info will represent you for no fee.... Just my opinion, I have been wrong before, but not on this subject.

It is your responsibility as a permit holder to source the correct info. If Illinois does not honor your permit as they don't then do what it takes to travel thru the state and get to MI. Legally. That's your job.

If you carry the weapon in your trailer and it is concealed, you will have no issues. Nobody will know you have it and it would/should only be used in an emergency, which LE is not going to question, if you are in your trailer defending yourself. Most people get themselves in trouble when you are carrying it in the drivers compartment of what ever type of rig you have. There is really no reason to have immediate access to it while driving and if used in that fashion it will be questioned by LE especially if the CCW coverage is in question. Then like others have stated it is all up to whatever agency stops you and what the reason for the stop was that will determine the action they take, if any, and how they interpret your CCW status.
