Ceiling mounted storage in basement?
Has anyone used ceiling mounted storage solutions to maximize storage in basement compartments? If so please share your ideas. I do this in my home garage. I’m interested in how to do the same in my MH.

Wow, surprised you need to maximize storage in that beautiful rig.

Have space, will fill it I do have plenty of space but I'm always trying to find the right place for things. 7ft Stick Ladder for example would be best in the above area vs. in a tray. Just seeing if anyone else has done something like this for the OCD organizing types like me

More storage = more weight of shelving and stuff. Weight you RV to see if you have enough capacity left to add more stuff. Weight is an RVs biggest enemy.

The shelf I built was made using 1x4 pine.....slate style......strong enough to make 4 coast to coast trips, and light, using alum angle ....

I attached two wooden blocks to the aluminum framing which were cut to accept a 10" dia x 7' long shipping tube. The tubes have nice plastic ends that keep things from sliding out. It's perfect for my surfcasting rods. I also use bunge straps to hold lightweight items to the ceiling.

I like using the wire mesh shelf material that Home Depot sells for shelving/storage.
This is my 3/4 bay where the Dirt Devil is mounted to the bay roof. You can see part of my shelf mounted next to it. I like the wire shelf because it's easy to install and you can see what's on the shelf.
I use small plastic cable hold downs, again sold at Home Depot in the electrical department. I wrap the cable hold down around the wire arm and then drive a screw into the wall. Makes mounting pretty easy. The cable hold downs, one at each corner has tremendous strength.

I've got my ladder attached to the basement ceiling. Actually a couple of bungee cords hooked on the beams and under the ladder...two under the front and two under the rear of the ladder.

Put a couple 6" pvc pipes attached to the top of bay for fishing rods. Trying to figure out if I can get my unmounted spare between the frame rails. Hopefully I'll never need to take it down.
A hanging rack for the lawn chairs let's me get the one out I want while leaving the others.
Some good ideas so far.

The new Solitude 375 and Montana 3791 have a huge basement under the back end with a big slide out tray. So much room in fact, that it would be very easy to overload it and lighten up the hitch too much. The 375 has only 2,350# of ccc while the 3791 has 3,580. I think the OP idea is fundamentally a very good one because we all need to optimize space. I had not even considered it but now will look at ways to incorporate NealC ideas.
