I could have done that. In fact, with that torque multiplier that I linked, I'd most likely only need about 20 lbs. on my 150 lb. 1/2" drive torque wrench. But, I wanted a more accurate application. That torque multiplier is so powerful, that it would be hard to get an accurate feel and "click" on even the smaller torque wrench.
The $75 I paid for that Proto was to me, well worth it. It's a preference thing.
