Cleaning your rig

How many of you out there do a hand wax application on your rigs. I've got a 35 footer, and that is a darned long hard days work. Not sure if I'll go that far again. Although on the flip side I did get to see all the little areas that needed some caulking attention etc. so it was worth it. What is the norm here when it comes to cleaning and waxing?

Like NIKE says, "Just Do It!". Or, you can pay someone else to do it.

Started my 36' DP today. It is hard work but I had the radio on, a couple of cool ones in the fridge, and just got to it. I use a cordless polisher to apply (except in tight spots..have to apply by hand), then buff with microfibre cloths. I did half of the rig in about 5 hours..will finish in the evenings this week.

I hope this is a once annually chore and plan to keep it looking sharp with one of the waterless polishes...No Wet.

I used to get the sides on a weekend and finish the nose and tail during the week. It sure shines when you get done and is worth it!

Waxing a 35' wall is a chore anyway you look at it. I use Protectall. Does a great job in half the time of a liquid or paste wax. Get'er Done!

About once a year we do ours with NO WET and the wife suprised me the last time by doing it herself! Now that was easy . It took her about a day and a half to do the whole rig. There is no use trying to clean it up right now though as the pollen is falling hard.

I ordered my first 32 oz. No Wet today. If it is keeping your 2000 looking good, should work on mine. Do you have full body paint?

I use Gel Gloss and wax it twice ayear. Takes me about 1 1/2 days or so. But it look great

I wash mine after a trip and back it in the garage. I then do all the compartment doors at my leisure, then the sides and the end caps. I do the whole rig once a year and the compartment doors and front end twice a year.

You are right---34' 11" side is a Big wall. I like ProtectAll

I'll put about 3/4 cup of liquid "ZIP Wax" (made by TurtleWax) to about 4 gallons of HOT water, almost too hot to the touch. I use one of those extension wash mops. This hot wax wash gives our RV and other vehicles a great shine. Evidently it affords good protection since rain water will bead on the surfaces. That is my easy way ...I've NEVER put on a hand wax on any of our vehicles. Our toys still look new by doing it the easy way.
