Very sad. Any info on this fire would help out. Was there a recall box installed? Was there an ARP controller installed? I am sure the owner might not be in the mood to answer questions, but any info is helpful.

So sad! I just don't understand why folks won't make the small investment in the ARP protection device to know that they are safe.

Can someone enlighten me on the ARP controller? I feel I may be missing something important here that I need to install...

ARPrv is a real time monitoring/control system that will shut down RV fridge IF operating temps go too high BEFORE overheating the fridge coolant
https://www.arprv.com/
As for the MH Fire.......
FHU site so most likely fridge was on electric vs using propane
Could have started as electrical fire due to bad wiring etc
Not necessarily due to fridge per se
Lot more real info vs speculation needed

The service people were out a few days ago and said the fridge needed to be replaced. So what herd one was on order. It had the recall, I will ask about the ARP. People are ok, it happened at 3:30 am, I was 200 ft away and didn't hear a thing.

Thanks for the follow up. I was in a park when a trailer went up in flames. Service tech had been out the evening before and fiddled with the fridge propane connection. Theory was that something was left a bit loose and started the fire.

Very bad. The possibility of a catastrophic fire from the RV refrigerator is the reason I decided to replace mine with a residential. Costs less than an RV fridge and uses less electricity. While reefer fires are relatively rare, I just don't need the extra stress.

Added the ARP when I replaced the cooling unit on my Dometic. Seemed like cheap insurance and very easy install. Saw some scorch marks on the insulation behind the unit when I pulled it out, a bit scary!
