Coach-Net Extended Warranty Tranfer: Buyer Beware

I recently purchased a 2013 TT from a private party and was told that it had a coach-net 5 yr extended warranty that could be transferred. I looked at coach-net website and sure enough "Should you decide to sell your RV, you can transfer your coverage to the next owner, increasing the resale value of your unit." I scrounged through all the paperwork and nothing indicated what I learned today.
I called to Coach-Net to transfer the warranty. Apparently, Coach-net extended warranty purchased through the dealership is NON-TRANSFERABLE. I am not a happy camper. No where on their website or any of the documents that I read indicated this. Anyone else run into this problem?

What did your contract read ( not the website ) ? That's what you have to go by.

I think we all know that everything we read on the internet is 100% true. Just like everything a used cars salesman tells us.

I bought it private party. I read her original contract and the contract from Coach-net and it doesn't have transfer restrictions.

Especially when it's on their official website.

What you read on their website today is probably true of a contract written today, but doesn't have any meaning for any previously written contract. The contract is what it is, and if it lacks provision for a transfer, then it is not.

If the seller told you the warranty was transferable and that was instrumental in your buying decision, then you may have recourse with the seller if that proved untrue, but that's between you and the seller.

Some extended warranties are transferable, but when all is said and done, you have to pay a "transfer fee" that sometimes is more than it would cost to just buy a new extended warranty from a reputable company . . . . provided that you can find one!
