I don't understand the objection toward showing ones drivers license as a form of ID. I have used mine many times, cashing checks, picking up registered mail etc. I can understand federal facilities requiring ID as a way of helping to controlling fraudulent use of various passes for discount or free entry into different government facilities. Many years ago I had to produce ID to prove my age to buy alcoholic beverages. Been a long long time on that one though. Showing ID in order to use my Golden Age Passport doesn't offend me in the slightest.
