We had a 1985 airstream 345 that came with a microwave convection oven. It burned everything on the outside and was raw on the inside. Not just one time but every time. When we traded for a 1995 airstream it took forever, but my wife finally tried the convection oven. It worked great. They just got better as time went by. Our 1998 Pace also has a convection and we love it. I would never give up the cabinet space for a gas oven.

I have owned several MH's and have never used the oven except for storage. Every now and then we like some toast so we bought a small toaster oven which of course can bake some small items. I wish more MH's offered the option of stove top only, but then again, we don't use it either. We do use the MW a lot.

My wife tends to use the convection mode most of the time.
But when we are cooking a holiday meal or one where we have a number of guests (like when we go back east and have kids, grand kids and great grand kids over for a big meal), we use both the convection/microwave and the propane oven.
Wouldn't want to be without the propane oven.

Wouldn't want to be without the propane oven if cooking for large number of people. I love my biscuits and sausage in the morning. Cook separately in convection and then reheat and eat two at a time each am. Convection is great when you learn how to cook with it. Just read cook book that comes with it and follow directions. Life is good.

We recently started using the connection oven. Is so fabulous that we were stupid to wait so long. You'll never go back. Cooks somewhat faster, Browns beautifully & foods like meat stay moister & more tender.

Initially I missed our propane oven when we bought our motorhome. After we deciphered the manual for our Samsung micro/convection oven (written by some offshore tech writer who had never even seen the unit, no doubt), we found we loved the convection part so much we will never go back. I'd like to replace our Sticks & Bricks microwave to a convection oven combo but haven't been able to bring myself to junk a perfectly good over the range microwave.

We used a conventional gas oven in the 5ers for 10 years before getting the MH last year with Microwave/Convection oven and no gas oven. My wife has had a tough time getting used to the Convection oven! Can anyone suggest a cookbook that is written for convection ovens that might help her? Thanks!

My wife really didn't like the conventional oven at first. Now after a year in the MH I had to buy one for the house. She wont use a gas oven anymore. I know she did trial and error. Ill see if she has a secret book.

We had to special order a stove with an oven when we bought the coach. Wife just wouldn't have it without a regular, albeit small, oven. It was lite maybe three times in six years. It was replaced last February with a dishwasher that is used once a day every day that we are in the motorhome. She has never used the convection part of the convection/microwave. I had to make a trip to the factory service center (in February - part of the oven/dishwasher swap as well as other matters) by myself. I had some stuff that I wanted to cook in the oven so I fired up the convection oven. Gee, cooked just like I would expect and oven to cook. Nothing really complicated at this point, but gee whiz I don't do a lot of oven cooking anyway. Who knows, I just might try a small turkey in it.

We never used our convection in the last 2 MHs as it seemed complicated and was one more thing to learn. Last trip I really wanted some cinnamon breakfast pastries. So I took the time and read the manual. Actually it was very easy and it worked great. It takes a lot less time to heat up and bakes quicker. We use it all the time now.

Google convection oven cookbook. There is anything from free to books at Amazon. A cookbook came with our GE.

We have both, a Sharp grill 2 convection, and a gas oven. We are just starting to use the convection oven as the display was bad on the oven when we bought it (MH).
On our latest trip to Florida, couple of weeks ago, I found one on Craigs list near Atlanta, for 75.00 WHOOHOO, these thing go for 259.00 at WalMart. Bought it and installed it and it works perfectly!!
Now we are preparing for a trip to BRANSON, got the guitars tuned and ready to go!! Will celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary on the 27th WOOHOO
