Question Costs/Pitfalls of selling RVs

I'm in the market to sell my RV and am weighing the cost/pitfalls of going to an RV dealer or selling myself.

My inclination is to do it myself. Those of you with experience, what should I make sure I definitely do? What would you have done differently? How are finances handled? Obviously, a check from out of state isn't going to cut it as the new owner drives off into the sunset.

Maybe I should leave it to the pros. What are reasonable expenses that I should expect for someone to sell my rig? Should I seek out a dealer that normally sells my brand name?

I've tried doing a few searches, with limited success (buying and lawyers). If this topic has already been beaten to death, please suggest some search words. Thanks.

Price it right and you will not have any trouble selling a Pleasure Way..
List it on irv2, claz.org,RVFSBO, RV Classified, just to name a few..I use wire transfer and when I receive the funds I release the title and not
before...Do not let the take even a test drive unless you are in the vehicle and no sleeping in MH...Always get a copy of the drivers license anyone who is looking at MH before you let them drive it..

A dealer will need to purchase below wholesale, if you are ok with that figure, go for it. Try a consignment dealer. You set your price and they take everything else or they set the price and take a percentage. Bottom line is check with your insurance co. to be sure you are covered. No money in hand no title.

Craigslist. Cash only or if it is financed meet at your bank / credit union for buyer to pay it off. If buyer is financing meet at his bank / credit union and walk out with your money.

Starting trying to sell my travel trailer in November and just sold it Saturday.
If I could get almost as much and let someone else do it I would.
Its a pain to fool with and dealers have so many more people coming by to look.
