Could use some advice on Fumoto valve and hard water deposits
A couple questions you all can help us with...What Fumoto valve oil drain valave fits a ISL 400 cummins engine? Do I need an adapter to attach it? Any idea were to get the best deal on engine air filters? Always looking to watch our cost. Our coach was used in Arizona and we noticed hard water deposits around the bath room sink faucets and area of the shower...any good method of cleaning the scale off? Thanks!

Could use some advice on Fumoto valve and hard water deposits
Hi Camelot
Did you go the Fumoto web page? It lists most applications.
http://www.fumotousa.com/
Looks like:
B-Series(3.3L,3.9L & 5.9L), C-Series (8.3L), ISB, ISC, ISL engines Mdl F-104
So model F-104 should fit. Doesn't list any adapters required. Just add an "N" to the part number if you want the valve with a nipple to attch a drain hose.
I have had the Fumoto valve on my Caterpillar C12 for several years and have never had a problem.
I buy most of my filters on line, so just look for the best price with shipping costs and have them delivered.
Luck,
Bob

Hi, and Welcome to iRV2. As Bob says shopping online will get you a good price on filters , but make sure your getting a BRAND name when you buy. There are filters out there that I wouldn't use on my lawn mower. Also , I winter in AZ, if your coach was there check the hot water heater, pull the electric element, I have to replace mine every year. Anode rod sometimes twice in the 4 months I'm there. Safe travels.

CLR or Lime Away are good for hard water deposits ,I installed a Fumoto valve a few weeks ago when I changed my oil for the first time . I ordered it from Amazon and had it in two days.

I worry about using harsh chemicals on various surfaces. I have found RV-Trine Sanitation Products - Product - Camping World
bowl cleaner to work wonders on calcium deposits on the bath sink, toilet seals, and just recently the toilet spray wand that was constantly leaking whenever the toilet was flushed. Granted it may take a few hours of soaking, but I don't worry about damaging the equipment. Works great bowl cleaning, also.

Hi all
I ordered a clean-able air filter from K & N. Mostly easy to remove and clean, get their heavy duty filter cleaner. Takes a few hours to make sure it is dry. Cost about $200, but never wears out. I use my RV alot and clean the filter about every 6 months, when-ever the gauge is about half.
I use Amsoil in all my vehicles, 8 total, and love it. Change oil every 25,000 miles or so. I use Amsoil filters as they seam to be better. I you become a dealer the stuff is a littler less. but the oil is so good and never wears out just gets dirty but alot less than regular oil.
Hard water is a problem, just watch out for the chemicals you put in your closed rv tanks. Some can cause problems.
