Counting RV's Just for Fun

My DW and I thought it would be fun if we counted all the RV's we saw on the road between Texas and Florida this past week. We left Willis, TX on Wed and traveled TX-105 east to I-10 arriving in Jacksonville, FL on Saturday. It gave us something to do and kept us alert. We tried hard but, I know we did not get all of the RV's on the road.

Our rules were simple if the RV was moving on the highway or stopped in a rest stop or broken down on the shoulder it was counted.

Here are our numbers:
Class A: 92 (93 including ours)
Class B & C: 29
5th Wheels: 48
Travel Trailer: 46

It would be interesting to know if these numbers (ratio) reflect the number of RV's sold each year.

Oh one other note 2/3 of the TT were counted in Florida. Anyone know of reason why TT's are popular in Florida?

We did a similar thing on one trip but also noted how many were pulling toads.

Didn't keep the results but did decide every day is different and there seemed to be no rhyme nor reason except for long weekends. We did ours in California.

Ah Chief! I used to hand you guys a 3x5 card that had this typed on each side:

"Do you know how to keep a CPO busy for hours?"

DW does the counting, but she gets bored and usually says, "That's 100, I'm done."

Yeah! Inter-service rivalry, but when the chips are down I have your back.

p.s., you were so darn close you should have hollered that you were coming through. Hwy 105 and I-45 are only 80 miles from the house - and that's nothing in Texas.

How did you like 105? A little stop and go, but that is a nice scenic route. We used to have a time-share at April Sound, Montgomery County, on 105. I have also rode a motorcycle on just about every highway in that greater area.
