Cracker Barrel in Mt Airy NC

Do not go in there with a RV at all. The dip entering the parking lot is to steep and have seen campers and motorhomes drag and get stuck going in. Also there is a sign at the road RV / Buss parking it was never built with no room to turn around in there back lot.

I find that a lot of Cracker Barrels are not RV friendly even though they say buses welcome. One that we frequent regularly has RV and bus parking that has long enough lanes but the turn to enter and exit is too sharp. The other problem is the locals use the RV bus lanes and they are never open anyway.

Local knowledge, a repeat visit, or a Google map review is good. When traveling west, we sometimes stop at the Cracker Barrel east of Louisville off of Blankenbaker Parkway. The ramp out of the generous RV lot is very short and steep, but I take both lanes to "crab" almost sideways out and don't drag either the motorhome frame or car trailer.

That said, some Cracker Barrel RV lots are a joke and you should either be very adventurous or review the location ahead of time. And, don't get me going about the 4 wheeler idiots who park in the RV lanes

I think RV parking at Cracker Barrel is different for everyone. If you are driving a small RV then they can be very friendly. I big rig. Forget it. I do love their restaurants and often find parking near them, as I often see them in malls where I can park.

I used there place 7 weeks ago.. Cracker Barrel in Mt Airy NC

Truck/trailer F 250 super-cab, long bed... and 30 foot trailer.. no issues..

I did not have one issue... and was the first time I used a parking lot to sleep-over.

FYI.. place was built in early 2015...

drive entrance and side walk design is ruled by City.. Not Restaurant

The Mt. Airy Cracker Barrel entry / exit just might be impossible for an RV to access, but I suggest the real issue is that some owners don't know how to drive across a steep ramp. These things we drive or tow are not cars, and one must be alert for situations calling for a different style of maneuvering.

Good to know because we LOVE your town! We stop whenever traveling through the area, and sometimes as a destination. Mayberry Campground, Fiddlers Convention, Sheriff Andy, Friendly folks... what more could you ask for

cheers,
Joopy

X2! Mayberry CG is great and a Porkchop sandwich at the Snappy Lunch takes me back to my childhood in the 1950s.
