Are you saying you have a chrome dome or tophat over your axle? I have purchased the crossfire system but have not installed mine yet. You can install the bracket that holds the head either under the dome cover or on top......under requires removing 5 lugnuts..on top only one lug nut. I plan to go with just one lug nut removal or on top. It has to be mounted on the lug that is mid point from the inside and outside valve stems.

I mounted mine ON the center cap of the rear. I did not like offsetting the rotating mass. I centered it and ysed 2 1/4"self tapping bolts to hold them. 12000 miles later and it's still there, no issues and easy to see.

Can you send pictures. I may like that better than the way mine is mounted

Mine were mounted on the hubcap and it came off on a rough road ripping the whole system off and allowing both tires to go flat and ruining them. $1100 and several hours later I was back on the road. I would only mount them to a lug nut now.

I thought I had hubcaps, but they are actually simluators and Crossfire specifically says their product does not work with those.

Oh well.

You can take Bob and Karen's route and probably mount it on the center of the cap. I would bolt through from the back tho.

SAME exact problem I had on our Gulfstream !
Never replaced the missing one, traded it in with one cross fire installed on the other wheel set.

It's an awesome system , except if the entire thing goes away..
I heard the clink , clink, clink... hhuumm wonder what that is... and then
hey ! flapping sound and squirrelly driving.

Same bill too ! about $1150

I mounted mine using the lug nut on the wheel simulators on mine just a few weeks ago. Only thing I had to do was use a 2 inch straight valve stem extension on the inward facing valve stem as the U bend was too sharp to fit through the simulator opening. I will warn you though that it is a bit of a logic puzzle to get everything lined up and attached.

Installing the crossfire system

For those who installed the system......what tool did you use to secure the inner line to the valve stem? The instructions tell one to turn the line 1 1/2 turns after it is tight by turning it on. There must be a tool for such a situation. I tried to reach behind the outside tire but not able to reach the stem. Thanks for any help
