Dallas - Fort Worth Vinyl Planking
I'm having a difficult time finding a place that will install vinyl planking in a motorhome. We've found the planking that we want but can't find an installer who knows their way around a RV. Thanks in advance.

It's really not a bad DIY job. We did our fifth wheel a couple of years ago and sure we made some mistakes but we fixed them and learned along the way. It looks good and the wife and I can proudly say we did that. U-Tube has good installation videos.

This floor will be among our biggest upgrades to date and we'd like for it be done well. DW and I decided we don't want to learn flooring installation on our first and last RV. I don't mind changing sway bars, steering dampers, oil changes and similar projects but we want this project done by someone that has done this kind of work for years. Nevertheless, thank you for the suggestion.

i am certain you can do it yourself. if you have done it or wood laminate in your home, the diffderence to do it in an rv is just that you glue the planks down (some say partially some say entirely) while in home you don't.
there are a lot of videos on youtube you may take a look.
i prefer the hard ones with click lock. some may like the thin side glue ones. whichever you prefer...

I bet you're talking about Ernie Ekberg. He certainly is highly regarded by many people. DW really wants this vinyl planking and Mr. Ekberg is clear that at this point in his life, it's only engineered hardwood. But thank you nevertheless.

You hit the nail on the head regarding Ernie. Let me share our experience: we’ve had our 07 about 3 years the slide out carpet was old and stained. It had glued vinyl in the center, installed by the previous owner. It did not hold up well at all. It scratched from the slide rollers, and many places the ends were buckling. It was permanently glued, a big unexpected part of our high price was removing the glued old floor. Just say,n .....

All I can say is ... beautiful! I can see why you're so pleased. Something like those floors makes one fall in love once again with their RV.

There is a place on the north side of Houston by IAH that does it, they also remodel and sell used coaches. Used RV's Motorhomes, RV Service & Sales Houston, Texas I can't say anything about them other than I got a quote from this last spring
