Damon Daybreak 8.1L GMC Class A

We just bought a 2010 Thor Damon Daybreak and have not picked it up from the Dealer yet. It has only 15,000 KM's on it and we were told that there is an issue with the lifters and it will be 10 - 14 days to get it fixed. Everything is supposedly covered by warranty, but isn't this a very low mileage to have this kind of issue? Has anyone heard of similar situations? We are not familiar with this type of motor (V10 Triton) so not sure what to expect. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I may have made a mistake here!! The sales man said it was a V10 Triton but the Ad says it is an 8.1 gas engine on a workhorse chasis. No mention of a V10 (Ford???).

Even though I prefer the Ford V-10, the 8.1 is an excellent engine in my opinion and would not object to owning another one. We had the 8.1 in an '04 Tiffin 37DB and I had no problems with it. On a good day, we got 8.5 to the gal, but on one trip bucking a head wind we got only 5.1. I don't think a V10 would have done any better that day.

I wouldn't expect either engine to have troubles at that low mileage and age, and neither are known for problems with hydraulic valve lifters. Could there have been a misunderstanding about what "lifters" are involved or the nature of the problem? You might ask to talk to the service manager who is actually getting the problem resolved. Salesmen are rarely a reliable source of data about an RV.
