I was going to ask if you had power back yet.

Regarding Male to Male plugs/cords.. they call those suicide cords, and for good reason, Forgetting them is an excellent` idea.. Building one is a very bad idea.

If you connect to a generator and forget to disconnect from the grid it will backfeed. If someone working on the lines gets hurt or killed it is considered manslauter.If you are going to do it, do it right or hire someone who can.
