Our coach needs needs new shades really really bad and I been doing some searching and I found MCD's which I have heard of but they are HIGH Dollar and if I can save a few $$$ I would like to...

Has anyone dealt with Blinds Chalet?

I have gone to Lowes and Home Depot and looked at theirs but they a cloth and will not hold up to the riggers of Motor Home travel...

Are you looking for powered shades (e.g. the MCD) or just manual day/night type? Plenty of online sources for the latter...

I also like to save a few bucks if possible. Our day/night pleated shades have been a pain for quite a while. So, to try and save a little on replacement shades, we searched Home Depot and Lowe's for some good deals. None were found that would meet the RV needs.

We finally went with MCD and replaced 3 of the shades in the living room. I installed them myself with no problem whatsoever. What a difference these shades are.

I'll replace the remaining pleated shades as the break. This will spread the cost of replacement over a longer period of time which is easier on the budget.

I feel confident you'll be really pleased to have MCD day/night shades. They're worth the money.

Replaced all of ours (except the windshield) with MCD. Pricy but well worth the money.

We replaced our windshield shade, the driver and passenger side shades and the door shade with MCD shades on our '03 Allegro Bus. The windshield is a two piece windshield, but our installer made a one piece MCD shade work for it. They are great. We will replace the pleated shades with MCD as they break also.

Replace our pleated shades with MCD. A couple of them broke with no replacement parts available other than buy a complete shade. Removed the MCDs and installed Auto Motion shades, much better quality

Our rig came with MCD's for the front and drivers/passenger side windows. Had on motor quit already (gearbox stripped as I could hear the motor running). Cost $125 to buy a new motor/gearbox assembly. Easy to fix but I need to go back and reset the travel limits.

We had D-N shades in the last 5er. I couldn't justify the cost of MCD shades to replace 4 that the P.O. had messed up. Camping World had some on sale which we ordered - and as much as some us have had other problems (including me) with CW, these could not have been better as they were farmed out to a company that supplies them to OEMs. Our current 5er has wood slat Venetian blinds that work very nicely so we are out of the restringing mode for now.

We have a 2010 with MCD shades. The springs are starting to break and MCD says that we have to buy new shades since they no longer carry replacement parts. $250.00/ shade and they won't even match. That kind of customer service will send me to another supplier.

I actually just ordered a fabric sample kit from Blinds Chalet. They do a lot of custom blinds for high end homes so I'd imagine that the quality can't be but so bad. This thread seems to echo a lot of what I've heard elsewhere; i.e., MCD are nice while they work, but expensive, and AutoMotion are better but even more expensive. Since I'm going to be doing the work myself I have no problems giving Blinds Chalet a try first.

Here's a link to some previous threads about them that should assist.
