Good Morning! I am in the market for a dehumidifier for the camper! Need one that will do the job but not pull too much power. I full time in one spot and the need something to keep the mold down. Any and all suggestions would be great. Also may need a new battery so any suggestions on that!

GE dehumidifier has timer or percent settling to cycle in and off also low/med/high fan speed high square foot rating so will control humidity quick. Pan easily slides off to drain and kicks off when full has digital humidity percent screen also $180

There are a number of units like this on Amazon. The are small and the ratings are in oz/day rather than pints. Have no idea how well it would work. Its a different technology than the larger refrigerant type units. Maybe someone can speak to their ability. I've benn interested in some sort of dehumidifier as well, but haven't done anything yet. We run a large one in the s&b house much of the time as it so humid here.

FWIW silica gel will not have enough capacity then you have to bake it to get the moisture out thus dumping it back into the MH. Peltier might work but they are not very efficient. I'd go with a small compressor unit like the GE, set it on the counter and drain into the sink when the sink is not in use. Otherwise it might end up in the shower with the doors open. ;-)

This will be going in a travel trailer. 34 foot long. So no real way to open doors to help. Been too hot to leave anything open. Need something that could sit on the dining table or the floor and not be in the way.

Look at post #4. We use in our 40ft mh and it does fine.

We purchased ours about midway through the summer this year and at this point it seems to be working fine. It reportedly lasts 20-30 days before you plug it in to any ac outlet for 8hrs or so to rejuvenate so to speak. We set ours on the small table next to the reclining chair but it can really go anywhere due to its compact size. The unit is rated to work up to 333 sq ft which is fine as our mh is about 320 sq ft. I would think (1) would handle your size trailer, if not, get another as they are reasonably priced and come with a 10yr guarantee.

We use a Danby 30 pint dehumidifier, it is similar to the GE in post 5. Here in central Texas it is removing 6 to 8 cups of water a day from a 37 ft motorhome. We have it set on 50 percent and it maintains that level very well. Outside humidify has been running 60 to 80 percent.

Looks like it would take about 30 of the Eva-Dry units to do the same job.
