Demise of Fantastic Vent Fan?

I was just at the FMCA rally in Indianapolis and needed some minor work done on one of my Fantastic Vent fans. There was a table in the service area for Fantastic Vent but no one was there and a sign that said go to the Atwood booth. I went to the Atwood booth and was told to go to the service area. When I explained that the service area table directed me to the booth, they took my name, my coach location and noted my problem but I was never contacted. I walked the vendor area for 3 days and never saw the first Fantastic Fan on display nor anyone interested in selling them.

I hope this is not an indication of the future for this great company and the service they have provided us over the years.

I was at the FMCA in Indy & saw that booth too. I figured Atwood must've bought Fantastic but hadn't gotten around to Googling to find out. Anyone know?

Lori-

P.S. Where were you parked, Pete? There was a CC at the end of our row (Lot X Row 12 in the paved section) - was that you?

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

I had a question for them also but never found anyone. Not a big deal I wanted to add add a thermostat on the front fan. We were in X row 3. We were there Friday to Friday. Sure got hot on the black top. Did you get flooded. We woke up to 6" of standing water that left a mucky mess. Still had a great time and meet lots of nice people.

Kinda gives one a warm fuzzy feeling doesn't it. Will be interesting to see if Attwood can fill the shoes of the previous company.

That was almost two years ago. They do in their FAQs and such seem to make more mention of the fact that their warranty is only for two years. That was one outstanding aspect of Fantastic that they would usually provide free replacement parts when something broke on their fans failed regardless of age.

I contacted them about 4 months ago regarding a motor that had gone bad. They only wanted to discuss when did I purchase it and did I have a receipt. Not the old company at all. They replaced an entire unit due to a bad thermostat back in 09 and never asked a question other than did I need any other assistance. A great company that has gone south on us.....

Anyway,

Have a great labor day holiday and,

"Happy Coaching" , I mean "Camping".

It's called Corporate Greed. They buy a companies reputation, then try to maximize profits on that reputation. I saw the same thing happen to a body shop I used to go to. They do excellent work, but call me up trying to nickel and dime me for everything they can.

Six months ago I contacted them concerning the fuse housing for our fan in a 2005 Excel 5er. They sent me the replacement housing and fuse at no cost. It works great again now.

I called and got some parts for my fan a few weeks ago and they couldn't have been nicer. No charge. I posted about it at the time.

I called a in July needing a vent cover. They sent a new one no charge, no questions! The wind caught it, it wasn't a factory defect.
