Did you know this existed... fuel Filler location indicator

I seriously never have been aware of this tidbit...apparently many many vehicles have a tiny arrow of some sort on the dash fuel gauge that points to which side of the vehicle the fuel Filler tube is located. I'm going to verify if ours has one....

Here is the article I just found :

I thought you would be interested in this story I found on MSN: The Inventor of the Little Arrow that Tells You What Side the Fuel Filler Is On Has Finally Been Found The Inventor of the Little Arrow that Tells You What Side the Fuel Filler Is On Has Finally Been Found

There are two indicators. I use the other one. It's hidden behind a little square door. You have to look close to see it. It's round.

It’s been on all vehicles for years. Most handy in a rental car. You just now noticed?

They are handy if you are fueling someone else's vehicle. Some rvs have fill ups on both sides. Do they have two arrows?

Yeah, I never knew it was there. I see I'm not the only one but am just a bit late to the party..

I especially like that "indicator" behind that locked door on the outside. Hahaha...

It's not unusual for me to miss some obvious small detail along the way...i learned to laugh at myself.

I need to add an arrow to my fuel gauge. ^ That one pointing up would be for the aux. tank in the truck bed, otherwise, how would I ever find it!

Me too! Dual fill-points are sure handy at times.

Last year I rented a car at an airport and was going to fill it up on return. It was dark and I couldn't find the release for the gas filler door. A young lady the was filling her car came over smiling and showed me where it was down beside the seat. She had the same car and admitted she had the same problem. We shared a good laugh.

Evidently, I need to complain to Thor. My fuel fill is on the wrong side.
