Diesel concentrate fuel additive lubrifiant
when i attend at the NKK rally in the Keys i discuss with some diesel owners and some of them recommend me to add that diesel additive to each time i fuel my
coach
i am curious to know how many diesel rv owners are using this stuff

I use Amsoil or Power Service. Won't leave home with out it. Highly controversial topic. But I was in the refining industry for a while. I saw the blending and mixing mistakes that made it to the retail pumps!

I have used biobor in boat and motorhomes for many years,nothing worse than algae growing in tank.

A good algaecide additive, and the use of winter blend fuel in cold country is really all that I would use.

Wally world 4 oz of Powerservice per 20 gallons or so... I don't do it every fillup, but asa often as I can...

We add a algaecide right to the farm barrels. In the winter we have a little diesel additive that is suppose to help it not to gel up. Of course we use a #1 blend too in winter.

I add Biobor Jr (algaecide) when laying the coach up for the winter with a full fuel tank. I use no additives of any kind on an ongoing basis. That is what Cummins recommends for my engine.

Right...a controversial topic. Biocides are a way to protect against things growing in your fuel and clogging up the fuel system. Not too many people argue against that. The controversial part relates to the lubricity of the fuel. When sulphur used to be part of diesel fuel, it lubricated the fuel injection pump, which has parts that have only a millionth of an inch in clearance. Many of the diesel fuel additives are designed to restore the lubricity lost when the sulphur was removed from diesel fuel for environmental reasons. I use it. Sometimes, I also use 2-stroke engine oil to make sure the fuel injection pump is lubricated.

I use Powerservice regulary, especially when staying put for a while with full fuel tank like Gary. Never had a problem but I have friends that have.

I use stanadyne in my Duramax TV to help with lubrication, Stanadyne is also a supplier of diesel fuel systems and components. I will also use power service if run out.

i drove transport for 30+ years in canada and the lower 48 states and used howes fuel conditioner.the change in outside temp could cause condensation in the fuel tanks and in turn could cause the fuel to gel so fuel conditoner was used in the winter.to much fuel conditioner additive could also plug up the fuel filter.if there is a big change in day/night temps i would add it but dont over do it.

I will be picking up my DP next week. I will drive it about 150 miles straight to my garage and it will probably sit there until late March. So, without knowing its history of additives used I was thinking I would fill the tank about 50 miles from home and add 2 things:
1. A biocide.
2. Sta-Bil for Diesel
Any problems so far?
I was also thinking I might want to get something to take out any water too. But...here comes the learning curve of new DP owner...are there water separators already in the fuel filter system? Still, I would think that something to help move any water from the tank more quickly might be something to consider.
Any thoughts?

This HFRR test of diesel fuel additives reveals a lot of information about different brands.Some popular brands are way down on the list of additives tested. The cheapest, and most lubricating additive is biodiesel. Most diesel fuel systems have a water separator somewhere in the system. The secret to trouble-free performance from a diesel engine is to only buy clean, water-free fuel at high-volume stations. The only time I have had water in fuel is when I bought diesel from a small station with low volumes sold daily. One may be pretty sure buying fuel at truck stops is safe.
