Diesel engine pre-heater
Temps here last nite down to 17 deg. We got the motorhome at the house today in preparation of taking off for Florida on friday. Just wondering if I can leave the engine block heater turned on all nite. Actually haven't needed to use pre-heat yet, but if it will help in easier starting, and more importantly, in heat out of the dash heater quicker, I'm all for it!!
Thanks
Ron K

You can leave it on all night, won't hurt anything.

I always leave then on over night for all my diesels. Helps a lot in starting and warmup.
It is also not as hard on the engine as a cold start.
Good luck.

As stated, no problem to let it run all night but it made my power bill jump up. What I do is I use a heavy duty timer and set it to come on about three to four hours before time to go. Go outside, the wait to start light doesn't come on, she fires right up and the heat is instantly warm.
Of course at a CG no power bill to worry about so just leave it plugged in all night.
