Diesel fuel prices DOWN, going lower?

I searched, and am surprised there wasn't a lot of talk about this!

Not sure of elsewhere, but here in Utah diesel is about 10 cents higher than regular right now-- My 150 gallon tank is on fumes, so this is welcome! BUT, does anyone have any info on why the price is falling, and when the low prices will bottom out? Right now I can get diesel for $3.47, but we're not going anywhere soon so I can wait for the prices to go lower yet!

Paid $1.41/liter here this morning, no evidence of prices dropping.

Saw 3.68 to 3.99 coming across NM, TX, OK, KS, MO, and IA in the last ten days.

IMHO its all manufactured by the thieving you know whats that speculate and drive the market where they want. Then they manipulate the media.

I'm betting the respite will last to just about three weeks before we get the next manufactured crisis before Memorial Day. By that time all will be irrevocably pointed to driving for their summer vacation because "prices are down". To change at the last minute and fly would be too expensive.

Now how's that for a negative post

I paid $3.69 in Phoenix and $4.07 here in CA. I use Gas Buddy on my phone to find the least expensive station in the area.
A friend said diesel was $1.70 just across the border in Mexico.

Thieving you-know-whats... you sound like me! Seems like the have a plan to keep prices from being low for long. We bought our houseboat in '06, and like clockwork for 3 years the cheapest gas of the year came the last week of February. Then in 2010 the price oil starts rising sharply in February (why?), and if that weren't enough, some [moderator edit] got the bright idea to shut down a refinery or two during February for "maintenance". Not sure how one or two refineries can cause February gas prices to go from the lowest of the year to one of the highest, but it does. (question: barring freak weather, has ANYONE ever went to fuel up and find a gas station out of gas, for ANY reason? )

Put another log on the fire. Pop a top. Feet up a while and plot the next course. Never seem to think about the price of fuel when the engine starts and the highway fills the picture window. Can't imagine driving down the road thinking - darn another mile another 50 cents. YMMV.

Diesel fuel prices are dropping because the demand for home heating oil is falling this time of year. Another reason might be the European faltering economies, where diesel fuel is around $8/gallon and joblessness is rampant, reducing demand. U.S. oil companies export(or did) diesel fuel to Europe for the obvious profits.
That is my opinion, disregard if you disagree.

Crude oil is down about $6 this week. That's probably one reason for weak fuel prices. It won't last long as they will come up with a way to get it back up before the busy summer driving season.
