Fact is,,, gas is for some folks,,, diesel is for others.... If we want 35-40 mpg we will take DW's honda... If we want to tow (comfortably) our 5vr across country,, we'll take my "truck" ..... Monkey

Working in Port Allen, LA. Diesel at Love's across I-10 from motel is $2.44; diesel at 6 nearby c-stores is $2.29; diesel at WalMart 6 miles is $2.15. With need for 70+ gallons, 6 mile drive is a no-brainer.

I believe, if you check, the reason for higher diesel prices lies with the EPA mandating lower sulfur oil feed stocks to reduce diesel smog. This grade of oil costs more because it requires more refining. That plus the use of DEF has increased the cost of running a diesel rv, truck, etc. Cleaner air at a cost.
