Diesel in current temperatures
I thought I saw something about diesel fuel jelling? I last added fuel i think in TN or GA around the 15th or so. Now, after a couple days of negative teens do I need to do something before trying to start my motorhome?

I think you have warmer weather now or soon, so you won't have to worry it'll be just fine, might want to plug the engine heater in for a few hours before starting just to help it a bit, Most all stations use a winter mix in the winter so that fuel is probably good to -20 or maybe -30

Most stations sell fuel blended for the expected temps in their area. If you have been running, there is normally enough heated fuel returned to tank to prevent problems.
I think if I was you I would want to see inside my tank before starting.

If the fuel is gelled, its not going to start anyway. The only cure is to warm it up.
Anti gell is a preventive treatment, not a fix.
If your not in a hurry, wait until it warms up a bit, and the fuel thaws, before starting it. Once it thaws the fuel is fine and you can add treatment to get it circulated thru the system.

Thanks everyone. I am still concerned but not as much. We hit -16 or lower in muncie area. My sewage line is still frozen. Now THAT is a bummer. But I have to get power to engine heater somehow, pkug has no power? Oh the little things of a 20 yr old motor home.

Just warm it up with your block heater. If you are going to be in really cold weather for a while ad some Diesel 911.

Itīs going up into the 50īs tomorrow and Monday, so plenty of warm air to warm the diesel tank and lines. Tank will take some time, but itīll warm eventually. If you got summer blend in a warm state the last time you fueled, it may very well be gelled at this point, but once it warms, add an anti gel treatment and run the engine for a while to get it fully circulated and mixed. Itīll be fine. And next year, add the antigel before the cold weather hits, of course.

If the fuel is jelled then I would change out your fuel filters right away. I would also pour in Diesel Power Service 9.1.1. red bottle. I carry a bottle of 9.1.1. on my truck in the winter months, I also carry spare fuel filters too. This will un-jell the diesel fuel in the fuel lines and tank/tanks. Follow the directions on the bottle. Here is a link. https://powerservice.com/psp_product...&rl_retarget=1
During the winter months even though the diesel fuel is blended for winter use in our area. I still pour in 1oz of Diesel Power Service, Diesel Supplement for every 5 gallons of diesel fuel that I put in my tank. I do this on my truck and my wife's VW TDI. We had no trouble with the diesel engines starting and running even when nighttime temps got down to -31F in our area. For the cost of a bottle of Diesel Supplement it is will worth it to be worry free.
