I have the roof mount Winegard, and when I upgraded home to the Genie and a mini-Genie (or whatever it is called for second TV), I was able to use my old non-HD box for the MH. No extra charges, since I already have the home account, and the old box is long paid for and non-current technology. So my satellite works, but no local channels and no HD in the MH. Basically get all the national cable type channels. I can live with that for no additional monthly charges. Once at the location, I turn on the Winegard and it takes about 1-2 minutes to find the signal and start working. If I am in a location where I can get over the air reception, I use that for locals.

Direct tv has an over the air receiver that will work with the Genie to get your local tv channels,it uses your zip and over the air antenna to get local channels and displays them on your guide

You do know that when you call back the service person can see on your account that you had just called.

When I call they can see when the last time/day I called and what about.
I had called for them to shut off one of my receivers. When the last increase came out from $6 to $6.50 for receiver lease.

The next month it still showed up on my bill and no credit for the month before.
I called back about it. Service person seen when I last called about the disconnect.

She fixed the problem and gave me a $10 discount for the next 12 months.

Discount has been on the bill since.

Check your bill. That old receiver is probably still on that bill for $6.50 a month lease. Or they messed up when they put the Genie in.

The AM21 OTA receiver does work so you can DVR locals.
But it won't receive all OTA locals. Just the ones that DTV use for locals.
