Disabled and going FT

We are trying to get our stuff arranged with DRs ,scripts and important things. I was talking with my pain Dr about going full time and how to work the scripts. She suggested getting another pain Dr where we will be wintering and then come back here during warm months. We will be changing our residency and i would prefer not to be here(IA) 2 times a year. So how all you fine FT disabled RVers get your pain meds? Yes opiates and no lectures please. My aunt does runs to pharmacias, but she lives in Quartzside.

Lots of questions. Do you plan to be in one area for 6 months then 6 months in another fixed location? If so, then get, if you can, 6 months of meds then back to the second location. Mail order possible, but may not work because of the nature of the meds. Mail forwarding service or maybe a nation wide drug store and get a local doc if new scrips needed, refills should work in a chain pharmacy.

A bit unclear here why going back to IA twice a year is necessary. Any particular reason? Property, family? What does your insurance co think of all of this and do they have any concerns or ideas? No judgement here about the type of meds, no reason to even mention it, not our business.

If you plan to be stationary 6 months a year and moving around the rest of the time probably a new doc in the 6 month residency area can prescribe six months when you start traveling and send the script to a nation wide chain pharmacy.

Good luck.

I get a vacation override and get multiple fills to take with me. I tried having a hard copy of the RX to take and get filled but farmacys in other states will not honor a RX for opiods. I also tried the mail order service that my plan uses but they got lost in the mail and they would not reissue until the other was returned

I have no desire to return to IA but once every few years. My Dr had suggested twice a year in IA and then twice a year where ever we winter..i will be changing state of residence. Looking for hopefully better options.

There are very good reasons for strict restrictions on opioid meds.
I doubt you can get 6 months worth.

In NYS you can only get Narcotics for one month at a time.
