There is another issue that is going on with the Camping World stores. With the price of fuel, less money for recreation, lower money from investments and interest, and general economic fear there are fewer RV'S being sold, repaired, or on the road for long trips. Elective maintenace and accessories are postponed or ignored.

There is not enought profit to keep margainal stores open. You are seeing the same issues with Home Depot, Circuit City, and others.

Walmart is picking up the small rv items. Menard's, Lowe's and others are also selling a few more items each year.

At the same time, the one in Denton is building a huge RV rental and sales place next door to it. I believe they are in cahoots with one of the larger dealers aroung "McClains".
Go figure...

If the whole Affinity group had to fold their tent - couldn't happen to a nicer group.

I totally agree with Rainbow - Freedom Roads and/or the Affinity Group could cease to exist and it wouldn't be too soon. They ruined a basically decent dealership in Portland and Hillsboro, OR. Once freedom roads took over the only good techs left. Now I wouldn't take my bicycle to them for service. Oh yes, now that dealership stopped selling Newmar products because Newmar (standing on firm principles) refused to give Freedom Roads a better deal than they give to their other dealerships

The Portland area CW (listed in Wilsonville, OR) has been a fine organization and I've received very good service from them. I'll continue to frequent them - but, all these RV dealerships that have been turned into "CW stores" are mostly a joke. At least I haven't found one where I would take my RV - and I've stopped at several all over the country.

I believed they closed because the dealership would not sell out to them.

The same thing that caused the co-located CW at Stinnett's RV to close.

Stinnett wouldn't sell. Agreement cancelled. CW closed. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

That's exactly what happened, I happened to be there a couple of days after CW pulled out. Hart RV told me that CW pulled out in the middle of the night, and that they had no idea that CW was closing until they came in in the morning and CW was gone. Hart RV was not a happy camper. The new store in there now is having so real growing pains, the help has no idea what they are doing.

Sign of the times, as you come up to the turn for Newmar, at the Amish Acres, is a bill broad sign that States the following--Hart RV selling Newmar products and Camping world coming soon.
2 of the 3 are no longer located at Hart RV.
Question is Hart RV next to leave that site with sales of RV's down.
