JadedDancer Post 11 You asked if there are many participating parks. There are numerous participating in PA. You can check them out on line by searching for Passport America.

Being a Winter Texan fom WA, I have found many PA paks in my travels. There are some I visit each year. PA is money well spent, been a member for many years.

I have Good Sam and get the 10% off CG's, and even that alone has paid for itself with using it. Never heard of one offering 50% off. I need to look into this. Are there very many participating parks? If the CG"s I go to participate I'd gladly pay $40 a year for a membership that gave me a 50% discount. It would pay for itself very quickly. There must be something here I am not understanding.

I joined PA last month and it has already paid off. We stayed at nice campgrounds.

In the past two years, we've been 'traveling campers' putting over 25K miles in those 10 months of travel. There's where PA really pays off many times over...short stays in many, many CGs. We also have GoodSam but found(especially with today's fuel prices) if we drive 3 or 4 miles off our path, GS's weenie 10% is well eaten up with the cost of getting there - then back to our route. We will not drive out of our way just to get the 10% and will stay instead at a CG without a discount - usually works out to the good.
Now that the majority of our long distance travel is wrapping up, our plans will switch to finding CGs as a destination. That is when a GS CG will probably become a better deal(@10%) as we will be staying for longer periods of time...so I guess we'll continue the GS CG membership.
We'll continue with the PA membership as well...even with the availability game one must play, it's still a bargain. Some PA CGs will honor (if they are slow) additional days at the 50% discount if asked. Bob

I got rid of my PA membership. The parks offered are generally small out of the
way ones, does not work on any summer weekends. I did not find any places
that I'd want to stay. But I guess if all you are looking for is cheap, then
they might work for you.

We have passport America, the only thing we don't like is some of the RV parks will be blocked certain times of the year. While we are on the road my better half will call to see if a park on our route will give us the discount. Safe motoring.lg

I have had a different experience with our PA membership. It has some very nice RV parks. While on a 4 week trip last summer we used PA at about half of the parks we stayed at. All of them were nice, clean and we were treated well.
Just before thanksgiving we spent a week at a park in Cortez Florida, about 1 mile from the beach, that accepted PA for all 7 day's. Well landscaped lot, level lot with paver's and the cleanest bathrooms and showers I've ever seen! We saved $210 for the week with our PA membership. Now if we had arrived in December they wouldn't have accepted PA. They, like most Florida parks, will not honor PA during the months of Dec, Jan, Feb and Mar.
Are there some, not so nice parks, that take PA? Sure their are. You just have to spend a little time on-line and check out the parks you plan to stay at.
