Dish dome satellite with direct TV DVR/Receiver

Recently purchased a new to us 2009 Cameo that came with a Dish Dome Satellite and Receiver. We have our Direct TV DVR/Receiver that we want to connect to the Satellite system. Anyone had experience with this? Can it be done?

Had same situation. Bought used rv with Dish rec. It had Kingdome dish. Put in Directv rec. Kingdome reprogrammed for Directv reception. It works just fine. It depends on ability to reprogram the dish to rec. Directv signal.

Some satellite dome have dip switches that allow you to select Dish or Direct. The use different satellites. Get the model number and Goolge it to find a manual.

The problem isn't whether it will work with Dish or DirecTV, it probably will. The problem is whether it will work with your DVR. Some domes will not and some will with two sat cables connected. So it will depend on the type of dome and the type of DVR. Check with the dome manufacturer. Chuck

Sorry for the delay. Currently a Dish Receiver VIP211z is installed to a winegard minimax road trek dome satellite. Hopefully once DTV Receiver is installed the auto seek will do its job?!
