I thought that this was so cool when I saw another RV'r with one of these, I just had to make one for my own use.

It consists of one 10 foot piece of PVC 1" pipe, a 4 foot piece of rebar and a 3/4" washer.

See it in action!

Gordon - A gentleman at Dauphin Island RV park had one of those outside of his RV Feb. 2007 when I was there - people were nuts about them and he was selling them as fast as he could make them. Also made the metal rod "tee pee" for the hanging chairs . . . something I'd love to have. Maybe I can get one made before I leave here. If so, I'll post photos. That is REALLY nice - I love the hot air balloon on the other end! Good job!!

It fits over the rebar, on the ground. Slide the PVC pipe over the rebar and with the bottom of the PVC pipe on top of the washer. When the wind hits it, it allows the PVC to slide and turn without ground resistance.

These PVC poles have been around for awhile. Go to
www.missouriscenicrivers.com/PVCflagpolesplans.html
That site has the plans.
I added a solar floodlight to the one I have for 24/7.
Light is mounted 3/4 up main pole
I tee'd off pole with 18" PVC and hung Name instead of cap used 1" to 1/2" 90 degree elbow. In 1/2" end mounted solar light.

Sorry Mama. I'm in the last gasp stages of painting the house - shutters need to be painted and rehung (Wed). Thursday evening I am working 3 hours (so I don't get mandatory OT) on my first day back from vacation.

Send a message via AIM to stearn
I got an extra 1" cap so when storing I put the rod in the pipe and the cap keeps it from falling out. You do need to drill thru the cap and pipe, insert a 1"1/4 long pin or threaded bolt to keep the rod from knocking the cap off.
