Do I have a valve or switch for city water

My pump got stuck on last night and I suspect it is because my fresh water tank is empty. Obviously my water pump was turned on.

I have very little pressure right now.

I have a water pressure regulator on now. There is a brass device on the faucet before I hooked up. I wondered if that also is a water pressure regulator.

Hopefully if I fill up the fresh water tank it will fix the problem.

Also, I have no idea where my water pump is on this 2006gulf stream conquest.

The brass device on the city water is a flow restriction device/back flow preventer, when your water tank went empty, your pump could not build any pressure, that is why it ran and did not shut off. When you fill the fresh water tank, it should prime itself, build pressure and shut off, if it was not damaged from running without water.
I can't help you with the location of your pump, but most are in the water bay. You should be able to locate it when it is switched on and running........

You should have a valve to fill the fresh water tank with city water, and if that valve is left open without city water pressure on it, your water pump will run non stop, only being able to pump very little water, as it is just circulating through that fill valve.

Thanks palehorse. Very complete information. It turns out that it was a very complex problem, My friend turned on the water supply. It has a Y splitter connected to the city source. It was turned off! After careful analysis, I turned it on. Works fine.

I am glad it was off. when it came on black water came out the hose!. Don't know what that was but hope it is not what I thought. That hose was given to me. The black had to come from the city water source.. It was too much to have been left in the hose.

I ran it a long time.

Did you by any chance have a filter cartridge on the hose? Charcoal-type water filters can emit a lot of black gunk if the filter has deteriorated from sitting around too long. It's only charcoal so not unhealthy, but really yucky looking.

If you can identify the reason for the black in the water, I wouldn't use it for anything except flushing toilets. And sanitize anything that water touched before using again.

Thank God. The filter has been sitting for a very, very long time before I bought the motor home. Getting a new one today.
