Engine off if cooled down for a minute or two...such as idling in from the interstate. Generator on if running the AC.

Here it is illegal to leave the engine running while refueling, the attendant will shut the pump off. I ran into a problem once with a diesel that the crew had run dry, I got it running with a couple of gallons I had available then drove to the nearest station to add more. The attendant refused to let me leave it running, was really pithed when I blocked the island to bleed the system again..

Could probably save an extra gallon by shutting it off.

A V-10 running while fueling?? Depends on the speed of the pump. Also like someone else said, they have to shut it off to keep up.....Seriously??, It was meant to be funny....

Depending on the weather, I shut the engine off, but leave the generator running. Keeps it cool on hot days. Besides, the genset is further away than the fellow who pulls in on the other side of the pump. His engine is running.
